Amy's KitchenAccording to Amy’s Kitchen, every day is an adventure. Founded on November 18, 1987, Amy’s boasts an exciting story of starting small and then going big. It was founded by Rachel and Andy after the latter realized how hard it was to get ready-made meals from natural grocery stores. The very first dish of this vegan food company was a pot pie, and its recipe was created by Eleanor, Rachel’s mother. In June 1988, Amy’s first full-sized kitchen was opened with eight employees. In May 1991, the food company was so well established that Andy and Rachel were able to add a few more items to the menu.

Today, Amy’s menu is one to admire since it has something for everyone. One of its popular dishes is the organic rustic Italian vegetable soup packed with all kinds of ingredients. These are organic ceci beans, traditional herbs, mushrooms, brown rice, and vegetables. Another popular dish is the harvest casserole bowl, which is full of ingredients as well. It is a suitable dish for someone who prefers gluten-free foods. Amy’s other dishes are cheese enchilada meal, tortilla casserole & black beans bowl, cheese pizza, and Italian sausage, mushroom & olive pizza.

From February 16 – 18, 2023, Amy’s commissioned Atomik Research to carry out an online survey consisting of 2,007 adults across the U.S. The results showed that 52% of American adults are vegan-curious, which means they are interested in a vegan diet or vegan foods. Most adults pointed out that they prefer vegan foods because they are healthy and offer a better way to protect the environment. But given how busy they get, American adults are unable to prepare vegan-based meals regularly, and that is where Amy’s comes into play.

Amy's KitchenDelicious, healthy meals are not the only reasons Amy’s is a favorite for vegan shoppers; recently, the food company announced its plans to purchase renewable energy. The renewable energy will be purchased from Orsted’s Sunflower Wind Farm, and it will generate hundreds of thousands of new renewable power in the initial cohort’s purchase. According to Renaud des Rosiers, senior manager of environmental impact at Amy’s Kitchen, sustainability plays a massive role in how they do business. That is why Amy’s is paying special attention to renewable energy.
