Citizen App Launch

Citizen App is a safety app that aims to protect users from harassment and abuse. The app works by allowing the user to send an emergency message, which includes their location information and audio, directly to 911 in case of an emergency. This feature also allows the 911 operator to communicate with the user if needed. It is a new app for iOS and Android devices.

Citizen app; When you initially launch the app, you’ll be asked to provide Citizen access to your location, allowing it to send you real-time warnings no matter where you are. Citizens will also request access to your contacts and the ability to send alerts and videos to friends and family. You’ll get a quick overview of the SafeTrace function, a COVID-19 contact tracing system that can assist you in figuring out when you were exposed to the virus.

Citizen app; To see real-time alerts, tap the lightning bolt symbol, then hit Global at the top of your screen to bring up a drop-down menu where you may choose your city or area to see updates and videos. If there’s a video, it’ll start playing automatically; if there isn’t, you’ll be directed straight to a map showing the incident’s location. You can flip between the Map and the video by tapping the symbols beneath the video. Leave an emoji reaction or a comment by tapping the speech bubble, then tap the Share button in the bottom right to share via direct message in the Citizen App, social media, or WhatsApp, or by copying the link to your clipboard.

Citizen app; the Helicopters on the Map feature. If you’ve ever wondered why a police helicopter flew over your property, you may use this function to receive an alert whenever a police helicopter passes by. The notice will state how far away the helicopter is and why it is there, such as if it is looking for an armed suspect. You use the Map to track the helicopter’s journey to see its distance and remain out of harm’s way. Go to this page for more information.

Another new feature is access to a trained Protect Agent 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To use this feature, you’ll need to upgrade to a premium Protect subscription, which starts at $5 per month. Your agent can secretly assist you by monitoring your live location and audio, dialing 911, notifying other users, and even tracking your heart rate via your Apple Watch.
