The History of Amy’s
Amy’s kitchen, just as many businesses, began as a small family owned business. In 1987 Andy and Rachel Berliner started the business in their home. Rachel was on bed rest and Andy wanted to create some meals that met their fresh, natural and vegetarian standards. All of the products at Amy’s are non-GMO and organic and have stayed this way since the founding of the company. When Rachel gave birth, they named their daughter Amy. After years of creating meals such as pot pies, burritos and mac and cheese out of their kitchen, they decided to name their business after their daughter and open an actual kitchen for more production. The first kitchen was established in June of 1988 in Sonoma County California. They had 8 kitchen workers on staff to help create their healthy meals. Since then, Amy’s has grown to a global provider of healthy and fast meals.
