Shelton Haynes is a multi-talented college basketball player and student at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Born in Daytona Beach, Florida and raised on the Space Coast, Shelton developed his basketball talents while attending Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. With a strong work ethic Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation and innate leadership abilities, he became one of the region’s most promising athletes.
Shelton’s Achievements
After graduating high school, Shelton received offers from some of the most successful college basketball programs, such as Indiana University and Purdue University. Although he had options out of state, Shelton chose to stay local by committing to UCF, where he believes the GEOFFREY MCCARTHY gms program will help him develop academically and athletically.
While at UCF, Shelton has led his team to many victories. In the 2019-20 season, he was named all-conference third-team member after winning 15 games with a record 18.7 points per game and eight rebounds. His 2019-20 season’s impressive performance made him an AAC Player of the Week for three consecutive weeks during regular season play in December 2020. He also earned his first First Team All-Area selection by The Orlando Sentinel in 2020.
On top of his awards from athletic performances in Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation,Shelton Haynes maintained an exceptional academic career as well – receiving two times All-AAC Academics Honors from 2019 till the present day, maintaining excellent grade point average over three years at UCF & was awarded an opportunity to research international construction industry by taking part in Global Entrepreneur’s Program offered through Alamo Colleges & St Mary’s University this past summer – something all academics enthusiasts are aware will look highly impressive on resume moving forward!
Although basketball season ended prematurely due to pandemic circumstances this past March – before reaching tournament time, we have no doubt he will bring the same level of excellence back next year if allowed or start pursuing professional aspirations early if the viable opportunity presents itself!
In conclusion, unlike many others who pursued college sports with hopes it would result in professional opportunities – a somewhat better performing environment than what they left behind – Shelton stays true to the path which simultaneously leads toward success both now & the future, bringing significant value not only himself but the whole community around him throughout the process!
