Roy Beck

Roy Beck is the main character in Gloria E. Anzaldúa’s 1968 Mexican folktale, The Story of Roy Beck. In the story, an ancient widower presents a stone to his son, who then has to find a way to make it stand upright on its own without any help from anyone else.

It is a difficult task as every time he picks up the stone, it falls over with him on top of it. Roy Beck soon realizes that he has to find strength within himself, and the only way he can do that is to let go of his very being and allow his father to help him. He eventually gives up everything and lets his father carry him in his arms as a baby.

He believes that this will allow “space and resources” for Americans.

He created NumbersUSA Education and Research Foundation. Mr. Beck is also the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, which was established to deal with immigration issues. After his High School graduation, Roy got a chance to study at the University of Missouri School of Reporting.

Roy Beck first started writing about immigration issues in 1992. Initially, his writings were very different from what they are now.
